The research of Dr. Caeiro’s work team focuses on understanding the functioning of the neurochemical systems and central circuits involved in the regulation of blood pressure and hydrosaline balance; as well as their alterations and implications in the evolution of hypertension. Their latest studies provide evidence on the mechanisms and neurobiological substrates that underlie the differences between male and female in blood pressure control.
