MARIANO BISBAL
Associated Researcher – CONICET
Assistant Professor FCEFyN UNC
Dr. Bisbal laboratory is interested in studying cellular and molecular mechanisms that regulate various aspects of neuronal biology, with a special emphasis on the family of small Rho GTPases. We are investigating the activity of Rac1, Cdc42, and RhoA during the early events of Alzheimer’s disease using FRET biosensors, analyzing their contribution to alterations in the cytoskeleton and dendritic spines induced by amyloid-β. Additionally, we are exploring less studied members of the family, such as RhoD, highlighting its unique role in regulating the dynamics of the cytoskeleton and intracellular transport. Our research goes beyond the conventional triad, delving into the function of RhoD in the development and neuronal polarity.
