FRANCO MIR

Associate Professor at Animal Physiology Chair

FCEFyN – National University of Córdoba

DACEFyN – National University of La Rioja

Dr. Mir’s research project seeks to uncover the origins of sexual differences in the maturation of the GABAergic system during early neuronal development. Using transgenic mice, primary cultures of hypothalamic neurons, calcium imaging, electrophysiology, morphometry, molecular biology, and biochemistry, he studies the involvement of the sexual chromosomal complement (XX or XY) in establishing these sexual differences and their consequences.
